I have used this brace for over 15 years following a severe ankle sprain and I would never run or play racquetball without it.

I've been using this brace on both ankles for over 5 years. I play teenis hard at the 3.5 - 4.0 level and don't believe that this brace slows me down one bit. Over 5 years ago I sprained my ankle bad playing in a tennis tourney. It probably took me 4 months before I could play again. I had tried the air type rigid braces many years earlier and could not even picture me wearing one of those playing tennis. My Dr recommended the Stromgren and I've been a happy camper ever since. Over the 5 years I've been wearing them I doubt that I've lost any ankle strength. I just don't ever want to sprain an ankel like that again I am over 60 years old and weightover 230 lbs. I'd have to say I put a lot of torque on my ankles. I hope this helps.
