Philadelphia Cervical Collar

The Philadelphia Cervical Collar is designed for symptomatic relief of neck pain or injury. This neck brace is made of molded and shaped lightweight foam plastic, this cervical collar features air holes for ventilation, rigid occipital and mandible posts, and double Velcro closure. The shaped chin area is lined with moleskin. This cervical collar is available with or without a trachea opening.

Measure height from tip of chin to top of sternum

Measurement Instructions:

Proper sizing of the Collar is important for patient immobilization and comfort. Always maintain the patient's head in neutral alignment. These directions are guidelines only; follow a qualified healthcare provider's instructions.
Measure from the tip of the patient's chin to the top of the sternum in a straight line (Figure 1. A).
The measurement corresponds to the HEIGHT of the Collar. If the patient's measurement falls between two consecutive sizes, choose the smaller size. DIMENSIONS:

Model 4572 is 2.25 inches high

Model 4573 is 3.25 inches high.

Model 4574 is 4.25 inches high

Measure circumference around patient's neck

Measure around the patient's neck (Figure 2. B).
The measurement corresponds to the size CIRCUMFERENCE of the Collar. If the patient's measurement falls between two consecutive sizes, choose the larger size.

Cervical Collars are used for symptomatic relief of muscle, tendon, ligament, or soft tissue injury of the neck region. Collars are sized by measuring the circumference of the neck at the Adam’s Apple, and the patient should always be able to insert a finger between neck and collar. Collar should not interfere with swallowing or breathing nor cause painful pressure.

Cleaning:
Proper hygiene and product cleaning are an important part of a patient's recovery. In addition, it will keep the patient clean, comfortable and prevent skin irritation. A qualified healthcare professional will establish your cleaning routine.

After the Collar is removed, gently clean the patient's neck and face; if there is skin irritation contact a qualified healthcare professional. The patient's neck and face should be dried completely before the Collar is applied.

The entire Collar can be cleaned with mild soap and clean water. The Collar should be dried completely with a cloth or air-dried before it is applied to the patient. While a mild disinfectant is acceptable, do not use harsh chemicals or bleach.
