Sciatica Support | Braces For Sciatica

What causes Sciatica? Sciatica is a condition of pain that comes from pressure on the Sciatic nerve.  The nerve itself comes from several different lower back nerves from L3 to S3 (3rd Lumbar to 3rd Sacral nerves).  Compression of any of these nerves can cause the painful condition of Sciatica.  So where does the nerve pressue come from?  Common causes of Sciatic nerve pressure are things that are taking up more room than they should. Such as a herniated disc or a bone spur.  If it's a herniated disc, the disc material has escaped it's normal position inside the disc and is applying pressure upon a nerve root that connects to the Sciatic nerve.  A bone spur can grow in length and eventually put enough pressure on the nerve to start causing symptoms of pain, swelling, radiating pain, tingling and numbness.

Depending on the severity of your condition, you may need surgical intervention, however there are conservative options for you to choose from.  Physical Therapy and Chiropractic are some good alternatives to try.  For home treatment, consider wearing a sciatica support or brace for sciatica.
