- Choose between medial (inner leg) and lateral (outer leg) support
When choosing a brace, remember that medial support refers to the inner knee, and lateral support refers to the outer knee. You also must choose a brace for the proper leg, either left or right.
To determine size, find the mid-kneecap point. Then go up the thigh 6-inches. At this point on the thigh, measure circumference. If measurement is within ½" of next size, choose the larger size.
