Overdoor Cervical Traction Device
Neck traction is commonly performed to help relieve muscle spasms in the neck and shoulders, and to help relieve the pain of pinched nerves in the neck that cause headaches. The Overdoor cervical traction device provides up to twenty pounds of sustained traction to the Cervical spine, which is often recommended for relief from chronic neck pain due to cervical spondylosis, disk prolapse, whiplash, or torticollis.
Capacity - Although 5 to 10 pound (2.5- to 5-kg) weight is most commonly recommended, the Overdoor Cervical Traction device can hold up to 20 lbs. in water.
Some Guidelines For Use
Always consult a qualified physician prior to using neck traction at home.
Follow your physicians recommendations regarding amount of traction, duration and regularity of treatment.
Start with a low amount of weight in the beginning gradually increasing as instructed by your doctor.
Keep your head still without motion during the traction session to avoid injury.
Stop traction immediately and consult your physician if you have any symptoms which are unusual, including but not limited to; dizziness, increased pain, difficulty breathing or lightheadedness.
Never use traction longer than 30 minutes.
Includes all hardware necessary for administering over the door traction.

I have several Herniated discs in my neck.....Had surgery on c-5/c-6....donor bone and plates and screws about two years ago.
Now the levels above and below are starting to bulge, and giving me arm pain and constant headaches.
I bought this unit, as a cheap alternative to the 500 dollar machines, and it works...
after two 15 minute sittings at 20 lbs, my headache in gone, and my arm pain is minimal. Its a little hard on the jaw/teeth....but all in all it works!

My sister has one of these and I used it while visiting over Christmas break. I loved how well it stretched my neck and eased the pain of my herniated disk. I feel that continued use may possibly eleviate all symptoms, so I plan to order one now.

Great idea but needs help in the quality department, September 4, 2009

great idea but needs help in the overall quality. The fabric should be made of heavy cotton material. I plan on returning due to these issues. I just wish that it was made to fit a larger person the straps were adjusted & at the end of the range.
