Assembly of the Cervical Traction Unit:
  • Slide the pulley hooks over the ends of the V-wire to attach the pulley mechanism
  • Attach the V-wire by aligning the notch on the large end of the V-wire with raised opening on the door bracket
  • Slightly angle the door bracket upward to insert the notched V-wire
  • While squeezing the V-wire, insert the short end of the V-wire into the hole of the bottom of the door bracket
  • Position the assembled bracket over the top of an interior door

How to use the Cervical Traction Unit:
  • Fill weight bag with the water and seal bag. Do not exceed over 20 lbs.
  • Position bracket and pulley assembly over the to edge of door
  • Tie one end of the traction cord to the metal bracket located at the top of the weight bag
  • Make sure knot is secure
  • Thread the loose end of the of the cord over both pulleys
  • Tie the loose end of the traction cord to the closed end of the S-hook
  • Hook the open end of the S-hook to the center hole on the notched spread bar
  • Unfasten side straps of the head halter and slip head through the opening
  • Side straps should hang down against the back
  • Place chin on padded chin rest
  • Rest head on back portion of halter and fasten side straps
  • Side straps should reach underneath the ears and rest along the jaw
  • Position a straight-back chair against door underneath bracket and pulley system (or stand facing door)
  • Place the metal D-rings of the head halter into the notches located on either side of the spreader bar
  • The various notches on the spreader bar provide various degrees of tension
  • When done, unhook head halter from the spreader bar and remove halter
  • Drain water from bags and open seal to allow bag to air dry
  • Store bag flat or rolled after drying. Do not fold
  • Head halter can be hand washed and line dried. Do not machine wash
