The MalleoLoc stabilizing ankle brace is designed to help stabilize the ankle joint during rehab, sports and daily wear.  The stabilization comes from the design which allows full ankle motion, but protects from over-extension of the ankle.  The slim, heat moldable plastic can be custom fit to your ankle shape for the perfect fit.  The figure-8 strapping system provides adjustable support to protect the ankle.  Fits in most any shoe.

One of the most popular sport braces used in basketball, volleyball, soccer and football.  Make sure you are protected with the quality of the Bauerfeind MalleoLoc ankle brace.

Note: Available in Titanium color.

Unique design leaves heel and front of the foot free for natural stabilization and allows for full plantar and dorsiflexion. Thermoplastic material may be heat-molded to provide custom fit.
  • Figure-8 Velcro strapping stays secure even with vigorous activity.
  • Individually adjustable Velcro straps for precise comfort and fit

Can be helpful with such conditions as:
  • Chronic ankle instability
  • Prophylactically to prevent sprains
  • Posterior tibial dysfunction
  • Post operative rehabilitation
  • Post-cast for ankle injuries

A replacement strap kit is available.

Q. Will the plastic rub my foot?
A. The plastic is lined with foam for cushioning and comfort. It should not rub or irritate the skin.

Q. Can it be worn against the skin?
A. MalleoLoc can be worn against the skin or with socks, depending on your preference. Most people prefer wearing a sock under the orthosis.

Q. Will it fit in my shoe?
A. Yes, it is very streamlined and fits comfortably in casual and athletic shoes.

Q. Does MalleoLoc contain Latex?
A. No.

Q. Do they come in pairs?
A. MalleoLoc is sold as a single unit for either the right or left ankle. You can definitely buy one of each to make a pair.

Q. Are there replacement straps?
A. A replacement strap set including a liner is available for purchase. Please specify size and right or left version.

Q. How does it work?
A. MalleoLoc is a stabilizing support that counteracts ankle twisting without restricting movement. The stirrups fit in front of the ankle bone on the outside of the leg and behind the ankle bone on the inside to prevent the outward rolling of the ankle joint. The unique design does not put pressure on the ankle bones and leaves the front of the foot and heel free for natural stabilization.

Q. How do you put it on?
A. Detailed directions are included with every product.

Q. Can it be worn over an ankle sleeve?

A. Yes. An ankle sleeve, such as Bauerfeind's Compro Plus AB or Compro AB, will provide compression to decrease swelling and speed healing.

perfect for soccer players, October 21, 2009
By Carlitos(Orange County California)

I am 51 years of age and an avid soccer player. I had severly "rolled" my ankle several times in the course of my life while playing soccer. Rolling your ankle is a common injury in soccer. Each successive injury was progressively worse each time, finally culminating in a 2 month lay-off of rest and rehabilation. Thinking my soccer days were over, a friend recommended this brace from Bauerfiend. I HAVE NOT ROLLED MY ANKLE SINCE, and this has been over an 8-year time frame!! I swear by this brace, it overs freedom of movement, but impossible to roll your ankle, even after I stepped on the ball!!

WOW, May 13, 2009
By Joanne the greatest.(Kohler, WI)

My stroke recovered wife has used one for a year. For 11 years she had a full AFO but then had her foot surgically corrected. After 2 months her PT suggested she take it off. She walked 10 feet without discomfort! All was fine except for her side foot movement muscles which no longer were there. She walked fine but was concerned about a sideway injury. I, husband, searched the net and bought 8 ankle braces. This is the most comfortable and gives her physical and mental security. The others are back in store inventory. Perhaps she could go without a brace but, why take a chance when she can not even feel the brace. 90% of her "always" pain is gone! A different PT now told us that often an AFO will misalign a knee and hip. Yes, it did!
