The Bauerfeind Genutrain knee support is probably the most comfortable knee support on the market and provides excellent joint stabiliization for mild to moderate knee pain, swelling and weakness.  The unique feature of this knee brace is it's comfortbale kntitted material and visco-elastic knee pad that creates a feeling of massage as you move and walk.  This massage activity helps reduce edema and swelling as it increases blood flow, which in turn helps reduce swelling by carrying off the excess fluid and the increased blood flow also brings more healing properties in the blood to the local area to assist in the healing process.

If you've never worn a knitted brace, you will love the way the brace feels on your knee. It is softer and more elastic and fits like a glove.  The brace reduces skin irritation that many other braces cause.  The Genutrain has stays on either side to enhance the fit and durability.

Highly recommended:  "I have had occassion to use the Bauerfeind Genutrain knee support, and I was very pleased with the comfortable fit and performance of the brace to help provide soothing support and it was definitely helpful in reducing my knee pain. " - Dr. Tracy Norris, D. C., owner of

    GenuTrain Facts:

    Q. Does it have a seam?

    A. Because the product is anatomically knit to best fit the body, it has a seam on the side of the support. The seam is very flat and not irritating.

    Q. What's the difference between GenuTrain and GenuTrain P3?

    A. GenuTrain P3 was specifically designed to treat patellar subluxation (shifting). Therefore, the silicone insert in the P3 has a tracking guide to prevent the patella from shifting out of place. It is also a little bit longer and has 4 stays, rather than 2, because the silicone insert is a lot larger than the GenuTrain insert.

    Q. What are the stays made of and what are they for?

    A. The stays are made of spiraled stainless steel (like a slinky toy when it is flat) so they are very flexible and won't rust when wet. The stays have plastic tips on the ends so they won't make holes in the material. The stays help prevent the support from rolling.

    Q. Why is the kneecap covered?

    A. The knit material lightly covers the patella to prevent swelling from developing in this area. GenuTrain's unique, 3 dimensional knit does not put excess pressure on the kneecap, which is a benefit.

    Q. What is the elastic part of the GenuTrain made of?

    A. The elastic part of the GenuTrain is a natural rubber which is a latex, natural rubber latex.  It is covered by many layers of fiber and does not come in direct contact with the skin.

Best Knee Brace Ever!!, January 6, 2012
By Snowboarder, runner, & fly fisherman(Northern Cali)

Sizes perfect with the sizing chart. I'm 5' 11" 170lbs and I wear a size 3 and it fits perfect for me. I'm somewhat lean, but do have an extra 10lbs I wish I could get rid of, but the size 3 would still be the correct size for me, even if I lost that 10lbs. Support is fantastic and is not very noticeable while running, fly fishing, snowboarding etc....... Overall, I'm glad I bought this one!!! Oh, and the Titan color is Sick!!!!

    Knee support, March 5, 2011
    By Debbie(Lexington,Ky)

The size 2 is a little big for me even though I measured for it. But the size 1 that I bought fits one leg well(just a little tight). I would rather have them tight as they stretch with time.

    Good Product, December 29, 2010
    By Brad(Dallas, Texas)

I've tried many supports from Cho-Pat to this one. I tried others from Academy Sports or Sports Authority. The latter companies seem to utilize one source - McDavid or Mueller/Pro-Tec. Compared to these, the GenuTrain provides good stabilization of the lateral collateral ligament, where my pain seems to originate. They are comfortable (I have 2) but do tend to be a little scratchy on the backside of the knee, but not to the extent that they are uncomfortable. Would definitely recommend. I'd also recommend the Cho-Pat for pain the same region. Very comfortable and perfect isolation of the patella/knee.

Great product with one complaint, September 4, 2010
    By Teri(Cold Spring Harbor, NY)

Best support of all the previous purchased products. Comfortable and stays in place. I chose the beige color to be inconspicuous when wearing shorts, however the sewn on logo of the company is directly on the kneecap area and brings notice to just what I am trying to minimize in appearance. It is not removable so it defeats my intention.

    Genutrain knee support , June 21, 2010
    By daylight(portland, me)

This is very good and the sizing was correct. The silicone ring around the patella works well to massage this area. Drawbacks: the back of knee is not open, so the material binds and cuts into the thin skin behind the knee. Also, the whole brace slides down with movement. Bauerfeind needs a better material that will grip the skin so it doesn't slide out of place, and open the back of the knee.

Very good knee support, December 15, 2009
    By Cartman(New Carrollton, MD)

Very pleased with the comfort and fit, but durability is questionable. I've had to purchase replacements resulting from stitching coming apart from the inside.
