Whiplash is a common name for neck sprains, usually occurring in the cervical, thoracic, or lumbar area from hyper extension or flexion at a rapid speed. Whiplash may cause the fibers of the neck muscles to tear, resulting in pain, inflammation, and decrease of mobility.
