Overuse Syndromes develop from repetition of the same movement during work, sports, or daily activities that cause strain and excess pressure on the area in use.
The overuse of forearm muscles while playing sports creates Tennis Elbow (lateral epicondylitis), which affects the outside lateral part of the elbow, and Golfer′s Elbow (medial epicondylitis) that affects the inner medial part of the elbow. Olecranon Bursitis, Tendinosis, and Ulnar Nerve Compression are all Overuse Syndromes that cause damage to tendons and nerves in the elbow and arm.
It is recommended that braces, splints, casts, cold therapy, and other orthopedics be used to help treat symptoms that include swelling, pain, numbness, and burning. Please consult a physician if symptoms do not respond to treatments.
