Exo-Static Collar w/ Chin Guard
The Exo-Static Cervical Collar is designed for symptomatic relief of neck pain or injury. Made of polyethylene plastic, with vinyl-covered foam padding, this cervical collar features both height and circumference adjustability, air holes for ventilation and hook-and-loop closure. The exo-static cervical collar also has a hinge in the bottom perimeter and bias slots under the occiput (back portion of the head or skull). The Exo-Static Cervical Collar automatically widens when it is lowered under the chin, and narrows when raised. Available with a padded chin piece for positive positioning, or without.
The neck brace includes: Hook-and-Loop closure at the back of the collar, and snaps for adjustability.
Sizes: Small (SM), Medium (MD) and Large (LG).

SM circumference 12.25 to 14.5, height from 5 to 5.75 inches
MD circumference 13.75 to 16 inches, height from 5 to 5.75 inches
LG circumference 15.75 to 18 inches, height from 5 to 5.75 inches
Cervical Collars are used for symptomatic relief of muscle, tendon, ligament, or soft tissue injury of the neck region. Collars are sized by measuring the circumference of the neck at the Adam’s Apple, and the patient should always be able to insert a finger between neck and collar. Collar should not interfere with swallowing or breathing nor cause painful pressure.

I have been wearing this collar for a little over 2 years, for the most part day and night except when I remove it to clean it and do my exercises and allow my neck to be free of it for brief periods so that I would not lose all muscles. I find that after 4 months the brace starts cracking up and I resort to duct tape to gain more life usage from it and until I can afford a replacement. The suppliers has replaced it twice for me without cost but now I must purchase new ones.
Please explain why this brace cracks up in such a short time. I live in the caribbean, could it be the hot climate here? I only clean with a warm with wash rag, so I know I am not doing anything to cause this problem.
