The Pro-Ice Knee Ice Pack - Pro Version is designed for both larger athletes and postoperative applications. For reduction of swelling and edema associated with sprains, strains and muscle pulls from sports injuries or inflammation associated with surgical procedures. The Pro-Ice Knee Ice Pack has a double layer system that ensures up to one hour of ice therapy, and full coverage of interior and anterior ligaments. This 17 X 12 wrap has a double layer of ice with a durable Veltex surface. Additional lateral stability is obtained through the use of the two layers of ice. Extra long straps provide a generous fit for larger athletes or postoperative patients.
Note: The inserts are filled with a non-toxic, non-hazardous, food grade material with the same characteristics of water. Inserts will freeze at 27 degrees and with stay frozen longer then ice.

See my review of the insert. The outer covering is fine, fits nicely around the knee. But this product comes with an ice insert that is very poorly designed - it does not conform to any surface other than a straight-up-and-down cylinder. You put in the ice insert (cells of flat rectangles of ice) doubled over -- which means it is really reinforced to stay straight, rather than conform to your sore knee. Whoever designed it, obviously never had a knee problem and in fact, never saw a human knee! You have to have cold stuff that conforms to the shape of the body part - and knees bend -- but the ice insert for this product does not. I hope I can get my money back - and I will look for something that is soft when cold so that it fits my swelling knee (I had meniscus surgery).

the idea seems good - but if you think about the fact that they have put little flat chips of ice in a cell pattern -- and doubled it (which is probably so they will stay cold longer) what you have is a VERY inflexible product. The ice pack does not conform to the curved surface of your knee and it actually causes more pain when you try to bend your knee. Very bad design, I am requesting an RMA and will look for an ice pack that uses something that is soft when cold so that it forms around my knee. Whoever designed it obviously never wore it. You would have to have a cylindrical shaped leg. Ice should be compressed around all the surfaces in order to take down swelling.

This ice pack is very similar to one that I used after surgery at my physical therapy sessions. I was very pleased with the quality of the ice pack and I've already used it once and it works great. I would definitely recommend this product.

For anyone who's had to use an ice pack for a knee injury this you'll be glad to have this. When you use a regular ice pack you struggle keeping it in place. With this everything stays in place, you need not worry if you need to get up for some reason I've had 30+surgeries in the last 10 years and I wish I had found this site before now and had this product from the start.

I have a chronic bad knee (three surgeries later) and yet I still exercise a LOT. Icing my knee after sports is very helpful to allow me to be able to sleep at night. Ice bags are limiting and messy. This product is simple to use, fits completely in a freezer and is ready for action whenever I need it. The neoprene design is great on the outside as it does not retain the cold the way the ice pack itself does and it does not stain sheets. The outside straps allow you to adjust the brace as the ice warms up a little making the product more malleable. The internal weave that holds the ice pack in place prevents any ice burn on your skin. Truly an excellent devise
